Here you can find answers to frequently asked questions about PDF page color detection, noise filtering, large file optimization, and privacy security.
This is because many PDF pages scanned using physical scanners or mobile cameras look black and white visually but contain minor color deviations at the pixel level (e.g., yellowish tint or color noise generated by camera/scanner sensors). By default, our tool is highly sensitive and might judge these minor variations as color pixels.
Solution: Before uploading documents, you can increase the "Pixel Saturation Threshold" (e.g., from the default 20 to 30 or 40). This instructs the program to ignore minor color noise and only identify high-purity color areas as color pixels. You can also slightly increase the "Color Pixel Ratio Threshold" to filter out small-area discolorations. For details, refer to PDF Page Color Identification & Classification Step Guide.
No. The settings trigger different response mechanisms:
Yes, both are fully supported. Our tool is compatible with both mainstream PDF types:
Processing very large PDF files with many high-resolution images can consume massive amounts of system memory when rendering and encoding Canvas images (using Data URLs). To prevent this, we developed the "Show Page Preview (Thumbnails)" switch.
For large PDFs with hundreds of pages, we strongly recommend disabling the "Show Page Preview" switch. Once turned off, the program skips thumbnail image generation and data conversion during color analysis. This saves hundreds of megabytes of browser RAM, increases speed by over 10%, and prevents memory-related tab crashes. When saving, the backend splitting algorithm still extracts and merges the correct pages, without affecting the output PDF quality.
100% Secure. This page runs entirely on local web technologies. Document loading, color detection, preview rendering, and splitting/merging are executed within your browser sandbox. No file data is uploaded to any server.
Because the process is completely local, the tool works perfectly even offline without any internet connection. Your sensitive contracts and financial documents are never exposed.
